Afterwards, take some time to shop for quality leather in the leather district or gold as you stroll along the Ponte Vecchio, famous all around the world for its jewelry shops. On one of these days you may wish to take an optional excursion to nearby Pisa in order to see the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.

From Siena enjoy day trips to the multi-towered hilltop town of San Gimignano, medieval Montepulciano and Volterra, or the enchanting Saint Antimo Abbey. Taste the excellent wines of the Chianti area and stop in a vineyard in Montalcino, where the international award winning Brunello wine is produced. Of course, some of the most typical Tuscan specialties will accompany your wine, and you will enjoy delicious recipes of genuine and simple ingredients passed down through the centuries.
