Our flexible travel planning is just one more way Trips2Italy helps plan your vacation of a lifetime.

Our flexible plan allows guests to reschedule a reservation to different travel dates, when Trips 2 Italy is notified up to 30 days before the original departure date, without penalty fees. Should you choose to postpone your trip, a letter of credit for 100% of the amount paid toward the original booking will be issued.

Option valid on new bookings made on or before June 30, 2021. New travel dates with Italy as the destination must take place with a departure up to December 31, 2022. Exclusions may be applicable and will be disclosed prior to confirmation of the reservation. Additional costs may apply due to travel itinerary modifications, such as new period of travel, airfare, and/or hotel accommodation rates. Should the postponed trip result in a rate increase due to itinerary modifications, seasonality and/or 2022 versus 2021 yearly difference, the client will be responsible for such possible increases.

Flexible Trip Planning FAQs

Q: Can I make plans to travel to Italy at this time?

Yes! You can book your 2021 or 2022 vacation to Italy with complete peace of mind thanks to Trips 2 Italy’s Flexible Trip Planning. With this initiative, travel plans can be modified up to 30 days prior to departure without penalty fees. Visit our Flexible Trip Planning page for more information.

Q: What if something changes after booking?

We have protocols in place to protect your travel investment. Should changes occur to your itinerary or the international travel situation after you have booked your trip, we will contact you to discuss the changes to the itinerary and your options, which would include modifying or postponing the trip. If you decide to postpone your trip, Trips 2 Italy will issue a letter of credit valid for 100% of your payment made toward the booking.

Q: How can I book a new trip using a credit issued by Trips 2 Italy?

A credit may be used to book a future travel package with Trips 2 Italy within the designated departure timeframe. To use the credit, contact your Trips 2 Italy travel specialist who will create a customized itinerary based on your travel interests and needs. Once you are ready to proceed with booking, the credit will be applied to the deposit and final payment.

If the value of the credit is greater than the cost of the new package, the remaining amount can be applied to another trip. If the value of the credit is less than the cost of the new package, the credit amount will be subtracted from the trip cost and the remainder will be due on the final payment deadline indicated on the proposal.

Please note that travel credits may be transferred to family or friends, with the exception of airfare or any other nominal, non-transferrable services included in the package.

Q: Can I modify or postpone a future trip that I have already booked?

Yes, with our Flexible Trip Planning initiative you have the option to modify or postpone your trip up to 30 days prior to departure. Please note that itinerary modifications, such as a change in season, accommodations, airfare, or yearly price difference may result in additional costs. Such possible additional costs would be the responsibility of the traveler.

Q: When do I need to get tested for COVID-19 in order to travel to Italy? Where should I get tested?

Prior to boarding, travelers must present negative COVID-19 test results taken at a maximum of 48 hours before the scheduled departure/72 hours before the scheduled arrival in Italy. Local pharmacies or urgent cares in your area should be able to assist with testing.

Q: What if I test positive for COVID-19 prior to departure?

While our Flexible Trip Planning initiative protects you from any penalty fees associated with modifying or cancelling your trip up to 30 days prior to departure, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect you in the days just before your trip.

Following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, most travel insurance companies now offer trip cancellation coverage should you contract COVID-19 in the days leading up to your trip as well as trip interruption coverage in the event you contract COVID-19 during the trip. An optional travel insurance quote is provided prior to booking.

Q: What if I am required to get tested in Italy prior to returning home?

Based on your itinerary, we will provide a list of local facilities where you can get tested for COVID-19 before your return flight.

Q: Will I need to provide proof of vaccination? What kind of proof is sufficient?

Bear in mind that this situation is fluid. As your trip gets closer, your travel specialist will be able to provide updates to Italy’s entry requirements in terms of testing, vaccinations, and other protocols.

Q: What is travel to Italy like at the moment?

All services associated with your Trips 2 Italy travel package (hotels, guided tours, transportation) will operate in accordance with directives from the local authorities. While exploring the destinations that are part of your itinerary, you may find certain health and safety precautions in place such as social distancing and wearing face masks. These precautions may change over time. Prior to your departure, your travel specialist will share the latest COVID-19 precautions that are in place.

Q: What happens if I get sick while I’m in Italy?

All Trips 2 Italy clients have access to our 24-hour assistance phone number while traveling. You are encouraged to call us at any time you might need assistance during your trip, including if you do not feel well. We will help direct you to medical care, or, in more extreme cases, coordinate an early return home. Travel insurance is helpful in this instance too as some insurance providers now include contracting COVID-19 as a covered reason for trip interruption, and medical costs related to COVID-19 might be covered by the policy as well.

Q: What happens if the borders close during my trip?

We are consistently monitoring and assessing the local situation in Italy, just as we have been doing since the beginning of the pandemic. Contingency plans are in place to avoid this situation, such as cutting the itinerary short prior to any closures that would significantly disrupt your itinerary. In the event that something like this does occur, our team would be available at all times to assist any of our travelers abroad. We would remain in constant contact with you while working with local authorities to arrange for a safe return.
