Day 04: ROME, POMPEII, VESUVIUS, SORRENTO
Breakfast at the hotel before heading to Pompeii via private vehicle. Upon arrival, you will meet your tour guide who will escort you through the excavation site where Mount Vesuvius covered the town in hot volcanic ash. These layers of ash preserved citizens of the town and their homes for many centuries, leaving behind a city frozen in time until excavation in the 1800s. Enjoy time at leisure for lunch in these historic surroundings before the tour moves to Mount Vesuvius National Park. The bus will take you nearly 3,300 feet up the face of the volcano where you'll have the chance to hike another 650 feet to the top of this still active volcano. The 30 minute hike pays off with spectacular views of the Bay of Naples. Afterwards, the tour continues to Sorrento where you will check into your hotel for the night.
Day 05: SORRENTO COUNTRYSIDE
Enjoy a buffet breakfast to prepare for a full day of authentic Italian food experiences. First you will visit a local pasta making factory, where you will learn traditional recipes for making fresh homemade pastas and sauces. Afterwards, you will enjoy lunch at a charming farmhouse on Mount Vesuvius, where you will tour orchards and vineyards, rich and lush from the volcanic soil. Later you will savor a glass of wine on the patio of this typical farmhouse before returning to the hotel in Sorrento for the night.
Day 06: SORRENTO, POSITANO, AMALFI
Breakfast at the hotel before taking the scenic coastal roads and reaching the picturesque town of Positano. Trickling down the cliff like a waterfall, be ready to take plenty of photos as this small town will offer spectacular views from every corner of its steep alleys.
