Cinque Terre Culture
The inhabitants of these places had agricultural origins and lived on the hills. They came down to the coast, once the Saracens had finished invading, when the sea became safe and populated the villages at the mouths of the rivers along the shore.
The villages grew with a support economy of fish and wine and because of their difficult access, they lived isolated from the outside.
Nowadays, despite the tourists, who appreciate the natural beauty of this land, the inhabitants are still keeping the old traditions: each of the five village has a distinct dialect and a proud cultural heritage.
The modern life stress seems never appears in these little oasis full of peace and this accompany the traveler to discover their habits and local traditions.
