You will start this unique travel package in the beautiful city of Parma; be sure to admire the stunning architecture of the Cathedral and Baptistery as well as the other historic buildings in the city center. Next, you will visit a local Parmigiano Reggiano producer to learn the secrets behind the iconic cheese. Visit a Balsamic Vinegar Cellar to witness the production process, aging process and enjoy a tasting straight from the source. Day 1: PARMA
Upon your arrival in Parma, check in at your centrally located hotel accommodation. Meet a local guide for a walking tour of the historical center of this elegant city, known for its excellent gastronomic tradition, artistic wealth and cultural heritage. Highlights of the city center include the Cathedral with its stunning Baptistery, the Teatro Reggio and the Palazzo della Pilotta. Enjoy a traditional dinner in a lovely central "trattoria". Overnight stay at your hotel accommodation.
Day 2: PARMA, PARMIGIANO REGGIANO CHEESE FACTORY, BUSSETTO
After breakfast, independent departure with your rental car to visit a cheese factory that is part of the Consorzio del Parmigiano Reggiano. The visit will start early in the morning (around 8:30 a.m.) in order to showcase the full production process: from the delivering of milk to the working and transformation of the traditional forms, to the salting and aging phase. This visit will last the entire morning concluding with a taste of this delicious cheese, famous throughout the world. Afterwards, we suggest you spend the afternoon in Busseto, discovering the places where Giuseppe Verdi, one of the greatest composers of Italian opera, was born and lived. Return to Parma later in the afternoon. Dinner on your own and overnight stay.
Day 3: PARMA, BALSAMIC VINEGAR OF MODENA CELLAR, FERRARI MUSEUM IN MARANELLO
Breakfast at your hotel accommodation. Your morning will be dedicated to the Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, another great product of the land of Emilia Romagna. Independent departure with your rental car to discover this amazing delicacy during a visit to an antique Balsamic Vinegar Cellar, known as an “acetaia”. Here you will see the production and aging process, followed by a tasting and a light lunch. In the afternoon, you could stop in Maranello for a visit of the Ferrari museum, one of the icons of Italian style and among the best racing teams in the world. The museum features interactive exhibits that outline the history of the Ferrari brand as well as a driving simulator (Optional activity, not included). Return to your hotel in Parma later in the afternoon. Dinner on your own and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4: PARMA, HAND MADE PASTA COOKING CLASS
After breakfast, check out of the hotel. As a conclusion to this "delicious" tour of Emilia Romagna’s cuisine, there is nothing better than a cooking lesson focusing on hand-made pasta! During this 3 hour course you will learn the art of making simple and stuffed fresh pasta, crowned by a lunch composed of your creations. After lunch, end of our services.
