Meet your group in Milan’s historic center and depart by motor coach for Verona, one of Italy’s most romantic cities and the legendary setting of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. On a guided walking tour, you’ll see Castelvecchio on the river, Piazza Bra with its impressive Roman Arena, Piazza dei Signori, Palazzo dei Tribunali, and Juliet’s House, where you can admire the famous balcony and touch Juliet’s statue for luck in love. After lunch on your own, continue to Padua, home to one of Italy’s oldest universities and the venerated Saint Anthony. A sightseeing tour will introduce you to the Basilica of St. Anthony, the vast Prato della Valle square, Piazza dei Signori, and the historic Caffè Pedrocchi, once a favorite haunt of writers and artists. Overnight in Padua.
From November to March, the Brenta River cruise does not operate. During this period, the same area is visited by bus with a local guide instead of by boat.
After breakfast, board a ferry for a relaxing cruise along the Brenta River, once the main merchant waterway connecting Padua to Venice. As you travel, you’ll pass elegant villas and picturesque riverside towns that once belonged to Venetian nobility. The first stop is Stra, where you’ll visit Villa Pisani, a grand residence now housing an art museum. Continue to Dolo, known for its 16th‑century mills, and enjoy free time for lunch. The journey then proceeds to Mira, passing through the Lock of Dolo and by more historic villas. Depending on the program, you may visit Villa Widmann and Villa Foscari (optional, not included) before disembarking in Malcontenta. A minibus will take you back to your hotel in Padua for a restful night. (From November to March, this itinerary is done by bus with a local guide instead of by river cruise.)
Enjoy breakfast, then head east to Trieste, a fascinating port city on the Adriatic Sea that once belonged to the Austro‑Hungarian Empire. Its unique position and history have created a blend of Italian, Central European, and Slavic influences. On a guided tour, you’ll see highlights such as Miramare Castle overlooking the sea, Piazza Italia, the Red Palace, City Hall, the Roman Amphitheater, and the Victory Lighthouse with its sweeping coastal views. After free time for lunch and a stroll through the old town, you might stop at one of Trieste’s famous literary cafés, where authors like James Joyce once wrote. In the late afternoon, return to Padua for another overnight stay.
From Masterpiece Streets to Vineyard Seats
After breakfast and check‑out, depart Padua for Vicenza, the city of Andrea Palladio, whose elegant Renaissance architecture has earned UNESCO World Heritage status. On a walking tour, you’ll see Palladio’s Basilica in Piazza dei Signori, Palazzo Chiericati, and the exterior of Villa Capra (La Rotonda), one of his most celebrated works, as well as the charming old town. Continue to Soave, a small fortified town surrounded by vineyards and crowned by a medieval castle. Here you can explore the historic center and learn about the renowned Soave white wine. Drive along a panoramic route through the Alpone Valley, where Soave vineyards stretch across the hillsides, then enjoy lunch on your own. In the afternoon, return by coach to Milan, where your tour and our services come to an end.
