Walk streets and ruins frozen in time, then enjoy free time for lunch in these historic surroundings (at your own expense). Next, head to Vesuvius National Park: the bus climbs to about 1,000 meters, and you’ll have the chance to hike the final stretch (about 200 meters, roughly 30 minutes) to the top of this still-active volcano. The reward is a breathtaking panorama over the Bay of Naples. Continue to Sorrento, check in, and settle in for the night.
