In modern times—especially since its selection as European City of Culture (2004) and major international events—the city has renewed its cultural spotlight, including the revitalized Porto Antico (old harbor). After check-in, enjoy free time to explore at your own pace, and if you wish, visit the Genoa Aquarium, among the largest in Europe.

After meeting your guide, set out on a half-day walking tour through Genoa’s remarkable historic center. Meet your guide and set out for a full-day exploration of Cinque Terre’s most iconic villages. Travel by train to Vernazza, a pedestrian-only fishing village with postcard views, then continue to Manarola, often considered the oldest of the Cinque Terre towns. Walk the famous Via dell’Amore, a 1.2 km “Love Path” suspended above the sea with breathtaking panoramas, and arrive in Riomaggiore for a local wine tasting. Later, switch to the water and cruise by boat to Portovenere, a jewel of the Ligurian coast known for its picturesque harbor, rocky fortress, and historic churches—among them St. Lawrence, built atop the remains of a temple dedicated to Jupiter.
