Day 1
GENOA
The Sea-Power City
Arrive on your own in Genoa, birthplace of Christopher Columbus and once one of the most powerful maritime cities in Italy and the Mediterranean. Over centuries, Genoa’s wealth and influence shaped a dense historic center filled with architectural and cultural treasures. In modern times—especially since its selection as European City of Culture (2004) and major international events—the city has renewed its cultural spotlight, including the revitalized Porto Antico (old harbor). After check-in, enjoy free time to explore at your own pace, and if you wish, visit the Genoa Aquarium, among the largest in Europe.
Day 2
GENOA
Caruggi, Cathedrals and Palaces
After meeting your guide, set out on a half-day walking tour through Genoa’s remarkable historic center. Wander the famous carruggi—narrow alleyways that open into lively squares—and admire elegant buildings and centuries of sacred architecture. Along the way, visit Genoa’s signature landmarks including St. Laurence Cathedral, the Ducal Palace, Piazza San Matteo, Chiesa di Gesù, Via Garibaldi, and Piazza de Ferrari. It’s a deep dive into the city’s layered history, all within one extraordinary seaport setting.
Day 3
GENOA, SANTA MARGHERITA LIGURE
Riviera Chic on the Tigullio Gulf
After breakfast, check out and transfer by private car to Santa Margherita Ligure, an elegant seaside town on the Tigullio Gulf. Known for its beautiful position, mild climate, and a mix of rocky and sandy beaches, it’s one of the Italian Riviera’s most beloved resorts—alongside nearby Rapallo and glamorous Portofino. After check-in, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to relax and explore.
Day 4
PORTOFINO, SAN FRUTTUOSO ABBEY, CAMOGLI, TIGULLIO GULF

Travel by boat to Portofino, the postcard-perfect harbor town known for its upscale charm and celebrity appeal. Continue to the Benedictine Abbey of San Fruttuoso, a dramatic Gothic-style complex tucked into the coastline, then visit Camogli, a colorful fishing town with a relaxed Riviera feel. Later, return by train to Santa Margherita Ligure, enjoying the scenery along the way.

Love Path Legends and Portovenere Poetry
Meet your guide and set out for a full-day exploration of Cinque Terre’s most iconic villages. Travel by train to Vernazza, a pedestrian-only fishing village with postcard views, then continue to Manarola, often considered the oldest of the Cinque Terre towns. Walk the famous Via dell’Amore, a 1.2 km “Love Path” suspended above the sea with breathtaking panoramas, and arrive in Riomaggiore for a local wine tasting. Later, switch to the water and cruise by boat to Portovenere, a jewel of the Ligurian coast known for its picturesque harbor, rocky fortress, and historic churches—among them St. Lawrence, built atop the remains of a temple dedicated to Jupiter. Once beloved by Romantic poets Byron and Shelley, Portovenere adds a poetic finish before you return by boat to Monterosso.
