Day 01: OUT-BOUND FLIGHT
Have a safe flight to Italy and get ready to begin your unforgettable adventure to Rome, Florence and Venice!
Day 02: ROME
Once you arrive at the Airport in Rome, travel to the historical city center with your private driver. Check into your hotel and then spend the rest of your day exploring Rome’s city center. You may wish to get a head-start on sightseeing and visit outdoor monuments such as the Spanish Steps. In the evening, enjoy a romantic dinner with your spouse at a local restaurant (Trips 2 Italy will provide plenty of suggestions) to celebrate the beginning of your honeymoon.
Day 03 - ROME
Start your day with a tasty breakfast at your hotel. Afterwards, embark on your first tour: a guided walking tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum with skip the line entrance. Together with your small group and expert local guide, you will explore the different levels of the Colosseum as well as the highlights of the Roman Forum, which was the cultural and political center of Ancient Rome. Listen to entertaining tales of brave gladiators and powerful emperors as you are transported back to the time of the Ancient Romans.
After the tour, take a break with some Roman street food or enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. The rest of the day will be free for you to admire Rome’s outdoor monuments independently. Visit Piazza Navona to witness its breathtaking fountains, stop by the iconic Spanish steps and then be sure to throw your coins into the Trevi Fountain so that your return trip to Rome is guaranteed. Make your back to the hotel to unwind before going out to dinner. Following dinner, consider taking an evening stroll through the city center, admiring Rome’s iconic sites and stopping to taste some gelato before returning to your hotel.
Day 04: ROME
After breakfast, make your way to the other side of the city to visit the smallest country in the world: the Vatican. While in the Vatican area, enjoy a walking tour of the famous Vatican Museums, which host the largest collection of art in the world. Admire several important highlights including stunning Greek sculptures, enormous tapestries and, of course, Michelangelo’s hand-painted frescoes that line the spectacular Sistine Chapel. The final stop of the tour will be St. Peter’s Basilica where you will visit a few of its chapels and witness another masterpiece by Michelangelo: Pietà . The tour will end in the Basilica and you will have the opportunity to continue exploring once the tour concludes. Consider making the climb to the top of the dome where you will enjoy some of the most romantic views of Rome from above.
Afterwards, grab a bite to eat and then feel free to continue exploring the Vatican Area. There is much to see and we recommend at the very least spending some time in St. Peter’s Square and stopping by the remarkable Castel Sant’Angelo, which was a Papal fortress for many centuries. The bridge in front of the castle is lined with stunning angel sculptures and is a must-see. In the evening, enjoy your final dinner in Rome where you can sample one of the cities iconic pasta dishes, such as cacio e pepe, if you have not already done so.
Day 05: FLORENCE
After breakfast, board the high-speed train and travel from Rome to Florence. Head to your centrally located hotel to complete check-in. Then, you will have the rest of the day to get to know Florence and its beautiful architecture. If you are looking for a unique bonding experience, consider joining an evening cooking class where you will learn how to make authentic pizza and gelato (optional activity, can be added to the travel package if requested). No matter how you choose to spend your evening, we know you’ll enjoy Florence’s romantic atmosphere.
Day 06: FLORENCE
Begin the day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel. Next, take a walking tour of Florence’s city center that will cover numerous must-sees such as the Duomo and the Baptistery, with its remarkable doors nicknamed the Gates of Paradise, as well as the Ponte Vecchio and the Piazza della Signoria. Your guide will bring Florence’s history to life as you make your way through the cobblestone streets of the city center. Once the tour concludes, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Later in the afternoon, you will have the chance to visit the Accademia Gallery, which is the home of the world-famous David sculpture by Michelangelo. In addition to the David, there are also a number of other Renaissance sculptures and paintings worth seeing, including a few of Michelangelo’s unfinished sculptures. Take your time and visit the museum at your preferred pace. Continue exploring Florence independently and then enjoy a nice dinner in the evening. We recommend sharing a local specialty known as the Fiorentina steak, which is an impressively large T-bone steak cooked to perfection. Afterwards, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 07: FLORENCE
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then depart on an unforgettable full-day excursion to the romantic Tuscan countryside. During the excursion you will travel through winding roads and admire picturesque sceneries with rolling hills, medieval villages and expansive vineyards. As you make your way through the countryside, you will stop for wine tastings at two local wineries where you will learn about wine-making traditions and sample some of the best Tuscan wines paired with typical products such as cheeses and cured meats. After a relaxing day creating memories that will last a lifetime, you will return to Florence where you will enjoy your final dinner in Tuscany before spending the night at your hotel.
Day 08: VENICE
Check out of your hotel and then board the high-speed train to your final destination: the enchanting Island of Venice. Meet with your private water taxi driver who will take you to your hotel located on the main Venice Island where you will check in. Afterwards, discover the main highlights of Venice’s city center during a guided walking tour. Along the way you will admire such famed sites as the Doge’s Palace, St. Mark’s Basilica and the Bridge of Sighs. Conclude your evening with a romantic dinner featuring fresh seafood at a restaurant along one of Venice’s canals.
Day 09: VENICE
After breakfast at the hotel, consider taking an optional excursion to the islands of Murano and Burano, which are located in the Venice Lagoon (optional excursion, can be added to the travel package upon request). Murano is famous for its glass factories and during a trip to the island you will be able to admire a glass-blowing demonstration to learn more about this unique process. Burano Island, on the other hand, is famous for its colorful buildings, which provide perfect photo opportunities, as well as its lace-making tradition. After the excursion, make your way back to Venice where you may wish to enjoy more sightseeing. We recommend taking a stroll through the Cannaregio area to discover a more authentic side of Venice. In the evening, do not miss your chance to take a romantic gondola ride at sunset; there’s nothing more magical than sharing this unforgettable experience with your spouse.
Day 10: VENICE
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then we recommend taking a day excursion to Verona, a historic city synonymous with romance. Romeo and Juliet is set in Verona and with remarkable architecture and postcard-perfect scenery its easy to understand why. Enjoy a walking tour of the city center to view famous sites such as the Arena, a Roman amphitheater that is still in use today, and the famous Balcony of Juliet. Afterwards, you will have the rest of the day to discover the beauty of Verona on your own. Return to Venice in the early evening and enjoy your final dinner in Italy, toasting to a long future with your spouse.
