TRAVEL ITINERARY:
DAY 01: ROME
As the plane lands at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport, be sure to enjoy your first look at the beautiful city of Rome, Italy. Transportation will be provided to your hotel along with your belongings. Check in at the hotel and then the remainder of the day is at leisure for you to spend as you wish. You may prefer to take it easy and relax or you could choose to explore on your own and get acquainted with the “Eternal City”.
DAY 02 – ROME
After a tasty buffet breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a three hour guided walking tour of the historical city center to admire the breathtaking and highly noted attractions. Start with a tour of Largo di Torre Argentina, an area that hosts four Republican Roman temples and the remains of Pompey’s Theatre. We will also stop by the Trevi fountain, which is Italy’s largest and most famous Baroque fountain, as well as the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, which was built on the site of the Stadium of Domitian where the ancient Romans came to watch their historic agones “games”. Other attractions will include Piazza Farnese, Campo de’ Fiori, and the stunning Spanish Steps. Once the tour ends, you will be free to continue exploring independently, go shopping, or simply relax. Perhaps you may wish to visit the Colosseum and Roman Forum or spend some time at the Vatican Museums admiring the world-famous Sistine Chapel (optional activities not included; booking a guided tour of the Colosseum or the Vatican in advance with skip the line entrance is strongly recommended and available upon request). Whatever option you choose, enjoy a nice dinner on your own this evening and then overnight stay at your Hotel in Rome's city center.
DAY 03 – ROME-NAPLES-POMPEII-AMALFI
Check out of your hotel in the early morning before heading to Naples by motor coach. Upon arrival, the tour guide will lead a walking tour of the historical city center and its attractions. The Royal Palace, once used by the Bourbon Kings during their rule, is one of the most popular tourist areas. The palace facade offers a glimpse of breathtaking views and unique architecture for the time period. The tour continues with visits to the Piazza del Plebiscito, the San Carlo Opera House, and the Gallery of Umberto I with its stunning architecture. The next stop of the journey takes you to the town of Pompeii. Before enjoying lunch in a typical restaurant, we will stop at a coral and cameo factory, which will showcase the beautiful artistry known to this area for thousands of years. Next, we will visit the excavation sites of this ancient Roman city, highlighting the history of Pompeii and how it was destroyed by the famous eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Afterwards, head to the picturesque town of Amalfi via a scenic drive along the beautiful coastline, with breathtaking views including the stunning village of Positano. In the evening, enjoy dinner and then take some time to relax at your hotel in Amalfi.
DAY 04 – AMALFI COAST
The day will begin with a buffet breakfast at the hotel and then you will have free time to explore as you wish. Whether you choose to walk around and enjoy this one-of-a-kind area, or take the hotel shuttle to a private beach for a swim, the views and the people will certainly be remembered for years to come. You also have the option to arrange an excursion to the neighboring towns of Ravello and Positano (optional Activities not included, but available upon request). The day will come to a close with dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel in Amalfi.
DAY 05 – AMALFI-POMPEII-ROME
Once you have enjoyed your buffet breakfast, you may use the morning as you wish to relax, do more sightseeing, go shopping or simply enjoy the hotel. Meet back at the hotel in the afternoon for the return trip to Rome via Pompeii. The Amalfi Coast offers a final view of the Mediterranean Sea while you are taken back to your hotel in Rome. Depending on traffic, the estimated time arrival is around 9:00 p.m.. Dinner on your own and overnight stay at your hotel in Rome.
DAY 06 – ROME
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel in Rome, the tour and our services will end.
