Vercelli

Located in the Piemonte region of northern Italy, Vercelli is an important commercial centre for agricultural produce. It is especially important in the areas of rice, food processing machinery and textile. In its beginnings, Vercelli served as Roman town and later became a free commune. Vercelli contains several building of artistic importance and many of the churches in the area contain valuable and historic paintings.
