From your ship, you’ll board a motor launch to begin your tour of Venice’s stunning lagoon. This scenic tour lasts approximately 2 hours, and you’ll explore a range of attractions that make up this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Make sure you remember your camera – the photo ops here shouldn’t be missed! The cruise starts with a smooth, relaxing tour of Guidecca Canal, and you’ll float past St. George’s Island. The island is home to St. George’s Church, built in the 16th century by the famous architect Andrea Palladio.
From St. George’s Island, you’ll cross the lagoon’s southern portion to the San Servolo islands, home to festivals, performances and numerous exhibitions. San Lazzaro is also here (a foremost center of Armenian culture).
From this point, your tour turns northward, and you’ll pass between Le Vignole and Sant’Erasmo islands, and then to Murano Island (the birthplace of stunning Murano glass). The Republic ordered Venice’s glassmakers moved to the island in 1291, and production of true Murano glass has remained here ever since.
Your tour now turns back toward Venice and you’ll enjoy a spectacular view of the Arsenale, first constructed in the 12th century (this was once the most efficient industrial complex in Europe). It now houses an exhibition center, naval base and research center, as well as a boat preservation center.
The Church of San Pietro di Castello is next on your list of sights, which served as the administrative and spiritual center of the city until the 1800s. St. Mark’s Basin will be next, so make sure you have your camera handy to capture the views over St. Mark’s Square.
The Doge’s Palace rises magnificently from the water, and St. Mark’s Basilica glitters in the warm sunshine. The famous Grand Canal can even be glimpsed in the distance. Your relaxing tour of Venice will wrap up as your motor launch turns to take you back to your ship, at this point.

General Conditions:

The tour operates rain or shine.
