If you’re ready for a daylong excursion to explore one of the most famous areas of the Italian coast, our Cinque Terre tour from Portofino is the ideal option. The Cinque Terre area is famed for its wildness, ruggedness and stunning natural beauty, and it’s also a UNESCO World Heritage site and a national park/protected marine area. There are five villages in Cinque Terre (which means Five Lands) – Manorala, Monterosso al Mare, Venazza and Riomaggiore.
Your tour begins when you board a motorboat bound from Portofino to Santa Margherita. You’ll enjoy views of the coast and the water as you cruise the Gulf of Tigullio, and keep your eyes open for photo opportunities. You’ll arrive in Santa Margherita and board an air-conditioned coach for the trip to Manorala, where you’ll disembark and take a walking tour along the Love Path, which will eventually lead you to the village of Riomaggiore.
Riomaggiore is a city of bells, and you’ll also find lots of fisheries – your visit ends with boarding another boat, this one bound for a cruise up the Cinque Terre coast to Monterosso al Mare. Here, you’ll explore the most famous village in Cinque Terre and have the chance to venture into many of the quaint shops in town, and a guided introduction to the town’s history.
After you enjoy lunch in one of the delightful eateries here, you’ll board a bus bound for Santa Margherita. From that point, you’ll take a boat back to Portofino so you can return to your ship.
Because of the need to walk on rough, uneven areas, comfortable shoes are recommended for this tour. Sunscreen and a hat to protect your head are also good items to bring along.
This Tour Operates Rain or Shine. If Panoramic Cruise is not permitted due weather conditions, alternative land transportation will be provided.
