TRAVEL ITINERARY:
Day 01: NORCIA
Arrival at Norcia. Check-in to your hotel. Welcome dinner in a traditional Umbrian restaurant. Overnight stay.
Day 02: NORCIA – SPOLETO hike
Breakfast at your hotel. Meet with your guide for your trekking tour and departure for an excursion that follows the old railway track from Norcia to Spoleto through the enchanting Nera valley, coasting a small river and the green clad mountains. Arrival in Spoleto and free time for lunch. The afternoon is at your leisure to visit the historic town centre of Spoleto. Transfer by minivan back to Norcia. Dinner on your own and overnight stay.
Day 03: NATIONAL PARK OF MONTI SIBILLINI hike; UMBRIAN COOKING CLASS
Breakfast at your hotel. Meet with your guide for another day of trekking this time in the National Park of Monti Sibillini, where you will be able to admire areas where nature alone rules supreme and small villages full of history which inspire a sense of peace and where there are no more than one hundred inhabitants. You will visit the small hamlet of Castelluccio and have a picnic lunch out in the open. In the afternoon, return to Norcia where a cooking lesson based on the traditional cuisine of Norcia will be held followed by an excellent and typical Norcian dinner. Overnight stay.
Day0 4: TRUFFLE HUNT (or CHEESE MAKING WORKSHOP); NORCIA
Breakfast at your hotel. Today?s experience will be the exploration of the territory around the city of Norcia where you will go searching amid the woods and hills for the famous and precious black truffle. You will be escorted by an expert "cavatore" (truffle seeker) and his dog. This excursion is not possible in May or September and is substituted by an enjoyable lesson on the preparation of fresh cheese (ricotta) held at a local cheese making factory. In the afternoon, time at leisure to visit the pretty town of Norcia and relax amid its uncontaminated nature. Farewell dinner using truffle based local dishes. Overnight stay.
Day 05: NORCIA
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and end of our services.
