Our itinerary’s suggestion:
Day 1
Board your overnight flight to Florence
Day 2 - Florence
Arrive in Florence, Italy
On your arrival at Florence Airport you are transferred to your hotel. Check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore this amazing town.
Day 3 - Florence
After breakfast you will join your Half Day City Tour that takes you to Piazzale Michelangelo where you can admire the wonderful panorama of the city, one of the most beautiful in the world. Then proceed by coach through the old city centre with an outdoor guided tour of the Duomo complex, the Giotto’s bell tower, the Baptistery with its bronze doors including the famous Porta del Paradiso and the visit to the interior of the Cathedral with the magnificent Cupola del Brunelleschi. A short walk through the historic streets of the heart of Florence brings you to the renowned Galleria dell’Accademia where you can admire the famous David by Michelangelo and other works by the great artist. The tour ends inside the museum.
Day 4/5 - Florence
Visit one of the most important worldwide art museums: the Uffizi Gallery. Immerse yourself into over more than four centuries of Italian art masterpieces, from Botticelli artworks to Raphael’ ones.
Take advantage of your last day in Florence to shop for quality leather and gold and stroll along Ponte Vecchio, famous all around the world for its jewelry shops.
Day 6/9 - Siena and Tuscan Hill Country
Travel by car through the Tuscan countryside with its ever-changing scenery of vineyards and olive trees. Arrive in the medieval city of Siena, famous for the Palio horse race, and admire the marvelous Cathedral, the unique, fan shaped Piazza del Campo, and the majestic Palazzo Comunale.
From Siena enjoy day trips to the many-towered town of San Gimignano, the medieval Montepulciano and Volterra, and the enchanting Saint Antimo Abbey. Taste the good wines of the Chianti area and don’t miss a visit to a vineyard in Montalcino where the world awarded Brunello wine is produced. Of course accompany the wine with the typical Tuscan specialties: delicious recipes with genuine and simple ingredients transmitted in the centuries.
Our best suggestion for an unforgettable trip: drive your car through the countryside and literally get lost! You will never be disappointed of what you will discover.
Day 10
Return your car to Florence airport for your flight back to America.
