A tour to discover the road of the Classic Tuscany between the Chianti area and the Nobile and Brunello red wines area.

ITINERARY

Day 1 Siena
Arrival in Siena and check in to Hotel. HD guided sightseeing of this beautiful town and time at leisure for shopping and lunch. In the afternoon visit to the Enoteca Italiana, one of the most important wine cellars in Italy with its location in the Renaissance era ramparts of the Medici Fortress. Its beautiful showroom is the perfect location for over 600 different types of D.O.C. and D.O.C.G. Italian wines (over 2000 different brands) and taken from all the wine producing regions in Italy and whose presence here is the result of a severe selection process. Wine seminar regarding 4 Tuscan wines given by a professional Sommelier followed by wine tasting. Welcome dinner in a Medieval restaurant. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 2 The Vernaccia di San Gimignano
Breakfast at the Hotel and departure for San Gimignano. Optional guided walking tour of this enchanting medieval town famous for its beautiful towers. Time to stroll than transfer to a local wine estate producing the white Vernaccia di San Gimignano D.O.C.G. The owners of the estate will guide you through a wine tasting session where local delicacies will be provided. Light tasting lunch. In the afternoon, we suggest you to visit the close town of Volterra and return back to your hotel late in the afternoon. Dinner on your own and overnight stay.

Day 3 The Chianti Classico
This is without doubt one of the most beautiful and famous areas in Tuscany. Depart direction the so called road of Chianti Castle and optional visit to the Brolio Castle. Stop in an enchanting castle which produces the D.O.C.G Chianti Classico red wine. The owner will guide you through the beautiful inside and cellars of the estate. The visit will be followed by a guided wine tasting. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon you will visit leisurely the lovely Medieval hamlet of Radda in Chianti, which is considered to be the heart of the Chianti Classico. Back to Siena in the late afternoon. Dinner on your own. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 4 The Brunello di Montalcino
This visit will enable you to discover how the famous Brunello wine is created and in doing so, you will visit two of the most prestigious wine cellars and be guided by the estates wine-makers. Lunch on your own. During the excursion you will have time to stroll around the Medieval village of Montalcino itself and the Abbey of Sant'Antimo, which was founded, according to tradition, by Charles the Great in the year 781. Return to hotel. Dinner on your own. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 5 Cooking Class
Breakfast at the Hotel and morning spent in a local villa for a cooking demonstration where you will also have to opportunity to participate hands on. After the class lunch based on what you have prepared and resto of the afternoon at leisure for relax and shopping. Back to Siena. Dinner on your own and overnight stay.

Day 6 The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano
Montepulciano, the so called pearl of the Renaissance, is the birthplace of Poliziano, but also the place where another great red wine is produced: the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Your first visit will be to one of the most ancient cellars in Italy, located right in the heart of the town. The visit is quite amazing, because under the Renaissance arches of this cellar, you will discover many Etruscan burial chambers, dug out of the tufa rock. Guided tour on foot of the town centre then transfer to a wine estate where you will enjoy a tasting-lunch in its cellars. Afternoon at leisure in Pienza, for final shopping, return to Siena. Dinner on your own and avernight stay.

Day 7 Departure
After breakfast, departure. End of services.
