Detailed itinerary:

Enjoy the unique opportunity to visit the ancient site of Pompeii. The tour starts on the Autostrada Del Sole, or Sun Highway, passing by the Abbey of Montecassino, rebuilt after the Second World War total destruction to reach Naples. After a short panoramic sightseeing of this lively city, we will stop for a visit of a cameo factory in Torre del Greco before heading to Pompeii. Break for lunch in a local restaurant before starting the guided visit of this famous and important archeological site. In AD 79, hot volcanic ash from the explosion of Mt. Vesuvius fell upon the city of Pompeii and its people, destroying completely the town and killing everybody. The layer of ashes covered everything and preserved intact some of the inhabitants’ bodies and their belongings. This legendary site was opened to the public in 1738 and you will experience the daily life of the Pompeians, as your guide takes you through the ruins of this ancient city. Remains of homes, baths, shops, and the arena, including the Temple of Vaspian and the Via del Sepolcri, will give you an insight into the daily life of a bygone civilization. The tour will end in Rome around 8:30 when we drop your off at your hotel or nearest drop off point.
