Detailed itinerary:
A full day of Roman history is yours for the taking on this full day tour. In the morning, We’ll head down Via Veneto, made famous in Fellini's movie “La Dolce Vita”, and pass through Piazza Della Repubblica to the Trevi Fountain. You’ll walk through the Piazza Navona to admire the Bernini's Four River Fountain, then we proceed to Piazza Colonna with the Marcus Aurelius Column and to the Pantheon, where we’ll visit this 1st century BC temple with its perfect Dome, before heading to the Vatican. There, we’ll tour St Peter’s Square and Basilica and admire the beautiful works of art and the famous Pietà of Michelangelo. Time for lunch (included). After lunch, we’ll continue on our tour that will bring us to discover the Ancient Rome. Passing the Quirinale Square, home of the Presidential Palace, we will reach Piazza Venezia dominated by the imposing Vittoriano Monument. We will walk to the Capitol to admire its unique combination of art and history. The tour will continue on to the Roman Forum (visit from outside), home of some of the most famous Roman archeological ruins and stop at the Colosseum (visit from outside). We’ll then board the bus to visit St. Paul’s Outside The Walls Church, passing the Piramide Cestia. This famous church is the burial spot of St. Paul the Apostle. Return to your hotel or the nearby drop off point.
