A short distance from the Capital, the exciting and well preserved Roman archeological site of Ancient Ostia  awaits for us. Ostia was an important harbour city of ancient Rome on the Tiber's mouth. As you walk along the roads, you plunge into the past, seeing life as it was lived so long ago. The history of this impressive and prosperous age can be seen in the temples, theaters, forums, still intact homes and workshops. Of particular note are the mosaics in the thermal baths and harbor offices. At the end of the tour return to your hotel in Rome or nearby drop off point.
