Minori was well renowned in medieval times for pasta making and in the 17th century the invention of the “ngegni” (a device which increased pasta production to industrial levels ) made Minori an open factory, with every space, public or private, that had the right ventilation being transformed into a permanent display of all types of pasta, hung out for the drying process. The traditional forms of pasta were set out to dry  even on the seafront promenade, which today offers cool sea breezes and welcome shade.

Minori celebrates all the gastronomic traditions of the entire Amalfi Coast in the first half of September with the “Gustaminori” festival a great feast of culinary skills blended with art and literature, presenting a dish ready to be sampled by Italian and foreign gourmets.
