This tour package is dedicated to those who wish to discover or deepen their knowledge of the Como Lake region, rich in historic events and which today is dedicated to tourism.

ITINERARY

Day 1
Arrival at Menaggio and check in to your hotel. Welcome drink. In the afternoon we suggest you make your first approach to the lake by visiting the splendid Villa Carlotta one of the best in the area. Dinner in a small local restaurant and overnight stay.

Day 2
Breakfast and transfer to Como. We recommend a trip on the ferry which in less than an hour will take you to Bellagio, which is worldwide renowned as "the pearl of Lake Como" on account of its ideal setting. It rises in fact on the promontory of the two branches of the lake, that of Como and that of Lecco. Bellagio is also famous for the beautiful villas that dominate the scenery. First among them all is the 14th century Villa Serbelloni, that faces over a huge park with 18 kilometres of avenues and pathways. Another villa worth visiting is that of the neo classical Villa Melzi (1810) with its very beautiful gardens and the first example of an English style garden. Return to Como by ferry and end of the excursion.

Day 3
Transfer by car to Lugano and meet with your guide for a walking tour through this romantic Swiss town that also rises up on this lake. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon time at your disposal for further exploration and/or shopping. Return to hotel.

Day 4
Breakfast. Last day to discover Como and time for shopping in this historical town. Como too has its own pedestrian area where you can shop and enjoy pleasant walks. The most famous and frequented is the one dedicated to the former king of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele III : here you can find the most exclusive shops and boutiques selling clothing and accessories, totally made in Italy. Complete freedom of choice that satisfies every need and all targets of consumers from adults to teenagers and of course young children too ! We muss not forget Como's famous silk items: they have large outlets, be it in the many elegant show rooms as well as in the small boutiques. Another tradition of Lake Como is that of fabrics for both clothing and furnishings and which can be purchased in specialised sales points situated via Bernardino Luini and in via Diaz. Those who love antiques could go on a pretend treasure hunt in the art shops that form part of a quadrilateral of streets selling pictures, rugs, glass and porcelain that are all collectors items. To enjoy even more this pleasant and convivial tour it is almost obligatory to stop off at the many cake shops and bars with their coloured window displays and the aromas that permeate: we recommend the exquisite tea biscuits, chocolates, Belli's pralines and works of art made from confectionery, the delicious ice creams at Bolla, Luisita and Bar Vittoria.
