Monuments and Museums
San Giovanni Cathedral
This holy cathedral is most famous for being home to the Holy Shroud
of Turin. The Holy Shroud is a sacred relic in the form of a linen sheet said to
have covered the body of Christ after his crucifixion.
Egyptian Museum (Museo Egizio)
This museum contains an extraordinary collection of artifacts from
ancient Egypt. Claiming the third largest collection in the world it has on
display several copies of the Book of the Dead as well as a rare well preserved
tomb of the BC era and an intact sarcophagus of Vizier Ghemenef-Har-Bak.
Modern Art Gallery (Galleria D’arte Moderna)
Turino’s modern art museum contains extensive Italian artwork from
the 19th and 20th century.
Carignano Palace
This elegant Baroque palace housed the first Italian parliament and
also contains the Museo Nazionale del Risorgimento Italiano, which commemorates
Italian history from 1800 to the early 20th century.
National Automobile Museum (Museo Nazionale Dell’Automobile)
This museum holds an appropriate place in the town well known for
being a major Fiat manufacturer. It documents the history of the automobile from
its creation to the current high tech models of today.
Valentino Park (Parco del Valentino)
Located along the Po River and filled with lush gardens, this is one
of Italy’s largest and most beautiful parks. Sights include the Castello
Mediovale which was built in 1884 for world exposition.

Boating on the Po
This water borne sight seeing tour is free during Christmas and
week-end afternoons. Boat passengers are offered a spectacular view of the city
